Welcome

Grace and peace to you from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Amen.

APPROACH TO GOD

I will go to the altar of God;

to the God of my joy and gladness.

Our help is in the name of the Lord;

who made heaven and earth.

Turn us, O God and Saviour;

that your people may rejoice in you.

O Lord, show us your mercy;

and grant us your salvation.

Lord, hear our prayer;

give ear to our cry.

COLLECT FOR PURITY

Almighty God, to whom all hearts are open, all desires known, and from whom no secrets are hidden: cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you, and worthily magnify your holy name; through Christ our Lord. Amen.

CONFESSION AND ABSOLUTION

The hour is at hand when those who seek God gather together to glorify their Maker in Spirit and in Truth. But first let us confess the times when we have fallen short of his love.

Silence

Human sin disfigures the whole creation, which groans with eager longing for God’s redemption. We confess our sins in penitence and faith. (Romans 8: 22-23)

 CONFESSION

We have sinned, O Lord, and have hurt your heart

We have taken more than we have needed.

We have made ourselves rich and iimpoverished the earth.

We have glorified our desires and called them needs.

We have taken from tomorrow what we want for today.

THE ABSOLUTION

Christ hears our confession from the cross, forgives our sins and calls us to open our ears and our hearts to serve and to protect the earth of his creating.

God Almighty, Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer, forgive you and free you to grow into the new life which is promised in Jesus Christ Our Lord.

Amen.

SERMON

THE APOSTLES CREED

I believe in God,

the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
He was crucified, died, and was buried;

he descended to the dead.
The third day he rose again from the dead;
he ascended to heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty,
from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.    Amen.

 INTERCESSIONS

PEACE

We meet in Christ's name.

Let us share his peace.

OFFERTORY HYMN

PRAYER OF OFFERING

Blessed be the creator of the earth

Blessed be the Lord of the harvest.

Blessed be Christ who descended;

Blessed be the word made flesh;

Blessed to us the land, that it may be fruitful;

Blessed to us the ground,

that it may yield a bounty;

Blessed to us the green earth,

that winter may turn to into spring

Blessed be the world,

That it may be the place of resurrection.

 PRAYER OVER THE GIFTS

Even as this broken bread

Was once scattered over the hills as wheat,

And when gathered together, becomes one mass,

So let your church, scattered and divided by sin,

So let your church, scattered and divided by sin,

Be gathered together from the ends of the earth

Into your kingdom, through Jesus Christ forever.  Amen.

THE GREAT THANKSGIVING

The Lord be with you.

And with thy spirit.

Lift up your hearts.

We lift them to the Lord.

Let us give thanks unto our Lord God.

It is right to give him thanks and praise.

I sat down under His shadow with great delight and his fruit was sweet to my taste.
He brought me to the banqueting house and His banner over me was love.

Worship and praise belong to you, Holy God, our Source and Ending,

our Alpha and Omega,

You have called all creation into being, setting the earth on its foundations.

You have spread out the heavens

like a curtain,

Filling the earth with goodness.

As the earth turns and the seasons change,

to create and renew us

that we may grow in your ways.

You sent Christ your son to dwell among us, by the message of an angel,

to be born of the Virgin Mary.

You send your Holy Spirit to draw us into deeper faith,

to inspire us to greater works,

to sustain us in our calling.

Now with sun and moon and stars;

with everything that has life and breath;

with angels and archangels,

we raise our voices to proclaim your glory, sing your praise:

SANCTUS & BENEDICTUS

ln the time of his coming in the flesh,

God leaned toward the earth

and spoke to us by a Son, Jesus the Beloved.

Born of flesh and the Holy Spirit,

He came among us as a helpless babe,

cradled beside the beasts

and warmed by their breath.

The earth waited in expectation of his coming

The heavens sang at his incarnation

Creation wept at his suffering,

As his flesh and blood were given to us,

in the everlasting gift of grace.

As God emptied himself into creation,

so Jesus emptied himself of might upon the cross,

to bring mercy and justice to all the earth,

making all things new.

 At supper with his disciples

he took bread and offered you thanks'

He broke the bread, and gave it to them, saying' take, eat. This is my Body:

it is broken for you''

After supper, he took the cup,

offered you thanks,

and gave it to them saying:

'Drink this, all of You'

This is my Blood of the new covenant;

it is poured out for You, and for all,

that sins may be forgiven.

Do this in remembrance of me''

We now obey Your Son's command'

We recall his blessed passion and death'

his glorious resurrection and ascension;

and-we look for the coming of his Kingdom' Made one with him,

we offer you these gifts

and with them ourselves,

a single, holy, living sacrifice'

Hear us, most merciful God,

and send Your Holy Spirit upon us

and Upon this bread and this wine,

that, overshadowed by his life-giving power'

they may be the Body and Blood of your Son'

and we may be kindled with the fire of your love

and renewed for the service of your kingdom.

Help us, who are baptised into the fellowship of Christ's Body,

to live and work to your praise and glory;

may we grow together in unity and love

until at last, in Your new creation,

we enter into our heritage'

in the company of the Virgin Mary,

the apostles and Prophets’

and of all our brothers and sisters,

living and departed.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord:

With whom, and in whom,

in the unity of the Holy Spirit,

all honour and glory be to you,

Lord of all ages,

world without end.     Amen

THE FRACTION

The living bread is broken for the life of the world.

Lord, unite us in this sign.

LORD’S PRAYER

As our Saviour Christ has commanded and taught us, we are bold to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy name;

thy kingdom come;

thy will be done;

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread;

and forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us;

And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,

the power and the glory,

for ever and ever.    Amen.

AGNUS DEI

INVITATION TO COMMUNION

Behold the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Happy are we who are called to share in this supper.

Lord I am not worthy to receive you but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.

COMMUNION HYMN

THANKSGIVING AND SENDING OUT

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is gracious.

And his mercy endures for ever,

Blessed are you, Lord God, King of the universe. Your word brings on the dusk of evening. Your wisdom creates both night and day. You determine the cycles of time. You arrange the succession of seasons and establish the stars in their heavenly courses. May the grace given to us, through these gifts of bread and wine, strengthen us in your service, that we may see the world through your eyes and walk in the paths you would set before us.    Amen.

THE BLESSING

Now may the one who is the Composer of all things,

The Fire of the Spirit,

The life of the creatures,

The spiral of sanctity,

The bond of all nature,

The light of charity,

Be with us and hear us;

And the blessing of God almighty,

Father, Son and Holy Spirit,

be with us, and those for whom we pray,

now and always. Amen.

Let us go in peace, to love and serve the Lord.

In the name of Christ.  Amen.
