A call to musicians and music lovers

29 June, 2016

Music is an important part of life at Holy Trinity, and we are looking for musicians, singers and music lovers to help us with our planned activites.

Our first call for help is to anyone who plays an instrument - especially a melody instrument or guitar - to join us in our monthly Taizé services, which feature simple, memorable chants in the Taizé tradition. The services are held on the last Wednesday of the month, starting at 7pm, with a rehearsal at 6:15pm for any players taking part.

Secondly, as we develop the Holy Trinity music calendar, our Director of Music, Chris Achenbach, is keen to hear from anyone interested in forming a Music Calendar Committee. Events in the coming months include concerts, including those by Lauder Community Choir and the Abbey Consort, and organ recitals. Tasks include preapring for events and their organisation on the day, as well as a streak of imaginative planning!

And last, but not least, we are always looking for voices to swell the ranks of our choir. In addition to the regular Sunday morning Eucharist services and the monthly Choral Evensong services, the choir members are called upon to sing at various special services throughout the Church Year, and also at Wedding and Funeral Services.  Choir practices are held in the Trinity Centre on Thursday evenings from 7.00 - 8.00pm.

If you are interested in any (or all!) of the activities, please contact Chris on chris.achenbach@btinternet.com.
